This site is provided by the Patient Well-Being Foundation to promote the development of a "managing health" capability that improves patient well-being. The mission is to help organize collaborative communities, curate "managing health" intelligence and build a "managing health" framework.
The United States healthcare system has been designed to achieve two primary objectives: treat conditions and provide services. It is directly aligned with a healthcare reimbursement system that pays for treatments and services rather than overall health outcomes. This has resulted in the highest healthcare spending per capita, poor overall health outcomes and a critical need to add a third objective to the healthcare system: manage health.
