Organizations Focused on developing Health Outcomes Measures
- A new consortium aims to tackle the complex issue of value-based payment for drugs, medical devices and cutting-edge gene therapy. A major part of that initiative will be defining the role of patient provided data in new value-based arrangements.
- Innovation and Value Inititave - their mission is to improve the way value is measured and rewarded in the healthcare system. Their goal is to promote the development and use of high value interventions that advance health. See Health Affairs Article.
- International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) is a non-profit organization who believe outcomes are the ultimate measure of success in health care. When seeking treatment, patients want to know what their life will be like after treatment: will I return to work, will I be able to take care of myself, and will my symptoms improve?
